Elias Adestam is ready for a comeback in the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia at the big season finale, the Mantorp Park Grande Finale, on September 20-21.

18-year-old Adestam drove the season’s first two races in the championship last spring, but has subsequently been forced to stand on the sidelines during the summer for financial reasons.

However, with support from Bilia and Porsche Center Malmö, the Nacka son is now back on the track. Adestam returns to the same team as earlier in the season – Mtech Competition – and is naturally looking forward to finally testing the limits in his Porsche 911 GT3 Cup again.

– It feels very good to be back in the Carrera Cup, especially in the final at Mantorp, which is the biggest race of the year, says Elias Adestam. It will be incredibly fun. We have been working on it during the summer with the Grande Finale as the goal, and I want to extend an extra thank you to Bilia and Porsche Center Malmö who helped make this possible.

However, Adestam, who is the reigning Swedish junior racing champion after taking home the electric series NXT Gen Cup last year, knows the challenge ahead is tough. The Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia is Sweden’s and Scandinavia’s premier racing championship, and Adestam is rejoining at a point in the season when the rest of the field is by far the most driven in behind the wheel.

– I am extremely motivated, but at the same time realistic, states Elias Adestam. I have missed more than half the season while the others have been driving a lot during this time. It is not reasonable to think that you should go in and win with those conditions. My goal is to get through the race in a good way, build up the momentum during the weekend, and lay a good foundation in the work for 2025.

– My really big ambition is to be back in the Carrera Cup full-time next year.

The Stenmark helmet under the club on Friday

Before the comeback at Mantorp Park, the final auction for Adestam’s specially designed helmet, signed by alpine legend Ingemar Stenmark, will also take place.

The helmet, which bears Stenmark’s iconic cap design, goes under the hammer at the FEEL for LIFE gala in Eskilstuna this Friday, September 13. The leading bid at the time of writing is SEK 20,000 and the entire amount will be donated to the Children’s Cancer Foundation.

The Stenmark helmet is the latest in a series of initiatives from Adestam within the framework of his charitable platform, Raising Against Cancer.

The auction is administered by Profeel and can be found here: https://feelforlife.se/produkt/elias-adestam/
